| Etoundi Zeyang has been appointed to the Festival Advisory Board of the 17th Assitej World Congress (2011). Etoundi is an actor and director of drama plays. He has studied drama at TJA in Lyon, University of Avignon and at the Conservatoire National Superieur D'art Dramatique (France). He is the Director of Theatre du Chocolat, one of the famous theatre companies of Cameroon. From 1996, he was the General Manager of the African theatre festival for children and young people (FATEJ), which takes place every second year in Yaounde, Cameroon. Etoundi Zeyang was also appointed to the Coordinating Committee of ACYTA as Artistic Exchanges Officer, in Johannesburg at the September 2009 meeting. He also participated in the Arterial Network Conference and the World Summit on Arts and Culture. The national festival of theatre for children will be held from 10-16 December in Bolova (this is a rotating festival, which moves annually from city to city) as part of Assitej Cameroon's plan to work towards decentralisation of the organisation. A company will come from Switzerland to manage a workshop for Cameroonian actors; and a French woman will work with teachers to prepare children to watch a performance and to help them explain a play for children. The international FATEJ festival will take place from 12-19 November 2010 in Yaounde, Cameroon; they are very interested in extensive African participation. |
