ASSITEJ INTERNATIONAL (Association International du Theatre pour 'Enfant et la Jeune/The International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People) was established in 1965, as a global alliance linking thousands of theatres, organisations and individuals, in more than 70 countries, working in the field of theatre for children and young people. ACYTA (The African Children and Youth Theatre Arena) is an African network linking all the Assitej chapters situated in Africa.
